Panama Boomers reach Midget Regional Tournament winner's-bracket final

July 4, 2012

PANAMA — The host Panama Boomers find themselves just two wins from a state-tournament berth.
The Boomers got past the Madill Cats 12-10 Tuesday night to advance to tonight's 8 p.m. winner's-bracket final of the 2012 OK Kids Midget Regional Tournament.
The Boomers will play the Stilwell Indians at 8 p.m. tonight for the right to get to the 4:30 p.m. Saturday title game. The Indians defeated the Okemah Panthers 5-3.
There will also be loser's-bracket games today and tonight in the tournament.
The Poteau Outlaws will meet the Cats at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon with the winner to face the victor between the Panthers and the Asher Indians — who edged the Vian Wolverines 6-5 Tuesday night — in the loser's-bracket semifinal at 6:15 p.m. Friday, with that winner playing for the right to get to Saturday's title game at 8 p.m. Friday against the Panama-Stilwell loser.
