KETCHUM — An old adage says that there's nothing like doing it the hard way. The Panama Lady Razorbacks softball team did just that Friday afternoon at the Class 2A Regional Tournament.
After losing their first playoff game of the 2012 fast-pitch season 6-0 to the Wyandotte Lady Bears in the first championship game, the Lady ’Backs responded by capturing the winner-take-all game 3-1 over the Lady Bears to win the regional — and return to state with a chance to defend their state championship.
The Lady ’Backs (27-11) went through Day 1 unscathed on Thursday, run ruling regional-tournament host Ketchum 11-0 and beating Commerce 3-1.
Panama will find out on Monday who and when they will play at the Class 2A State Tournament, which will take place Thursday through Saturday at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
