Panama girls, Pocola boys win games at Spiro on opening night of LCT

SPIRO — The Panama Lady Razorbacks and the Pocola Indians posted opening-night wins in the 2012 LeFlore County Tournament Monday night at the Spiro Gym.
The Lady ’Backs handled archrival Pocola 45-28, while the Indians got past a pesky group of Whitesboro Bulldogs 66-53.
After four championship quarterfinals on Tuesday here, the contests today and tonight at the Spiro Gym will determine the match-ups for Friday's fifth-place games.
On the girls' side, Panama will meet Heavener at 4 p.m. this afternoon, while Arkoma will play Poteau at 7 p.m. tonight. The two winners will then meet at 4 p.m. Friday for the fifth-place plaque.
On the boys' side, Howe will play Cameron at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon, while Pocola will face Talihina at 8:30 p.m. tonight. The two victorious teams will then play for the fifth-place plaque at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
