Panama grad enters political ring

April 3, 2012

A Panama High School graduate, Alex Cardenas has decided to take a road in politics. Cardenas has announced his candidacy for City Director, Ward 1 Position for the city of Fort Smith. After high school Cardenas enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. When he completed his tour in Iraq and Afghanistan he retired and returned to the area making Fort Smith his home. In 2006 Cardenas established and published the local newspaper "Hispanos Unidos" during that business opportunity an article caught his eye and led him to his next business endeavor. Cardenas sold his newspaper to Times Record and opened his new wireless business B2 Wireless, Fort Smith's first independent wireless network. Now, years later, Cardenas now owns and operates six wireless stores. " I am just an average person without a doctorate degree or law school background but I'm very involved in my community and I care with a passion about what happens to the city we live in," Cardenas stated.
