Panama looks to end regular season with win over Tulsa NOAH; Game moved from tonight to Friday night in Broken Arrow

November 3, 2011

One of goals for first-year Panama Razorbacks Coach Brandon Ellis was to have his new team surpass its win total of last season (0-10). That was accomplished when the Hogs beat archrival Pocola Oct. 20 to end a 17-game losing streak.
The other goal was to make the playoffs, but a loss to Heavener last week in the home finale at George Ollie Stadium doomed that goal. However, the ’Backs can still win their last game when the face Tulsa NOAH at 7:30 p.m. Friday at South Intermediate School in Broken Arrow. The game was originally scheduled for tonight but moved to Friday night for better attendance.
“I told the boys that it seems since the week of the Vian game (Oct. 14) that we have actually started playing well,” Ellis said. “We saw a chance in the kids at that time. We just carried that over into the Pocola game, and we played Heavener well. I don't want to go backwards. We're progressing and getting better. I don't want to take a step backward. A win would be huge. We're going there to have fun, but we're going there to win.”
