A Panama man has been sentenced to six and a half years in federal prison plus four years of probation for possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
Samuel L. Jackson, 24, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Muskogee after pleading guilty to the charge in March.
The charge followed an investigation by the District 16 District Attorneyâ€™s Drug Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration.Â jackson was indicted in December 2012.
The Indictment alleged on or about Aug. 14, 2012, that agents searched Jackson's home and seized more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Judge James H. Payne presided over the hearing.Â jackson remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending transportation to a federal prison where he will serve his nonparolable sentence.
