Panama man gets life in father's slaying

Timothy Lockaby pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in exchange for a 60 year prison sentence.

A Panama man accused of murdering his father will spend more than 50 years behind bars after a court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
Timothy Rue Lockaby, 51, was charged with first-degree murder in the hanging and beating death of his 77-year-old father, Arlen "Buck" Lockaby, in March.
According to the LeFlore County District Attorney's Office, Lockaby pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of first-degree manslaughter for an agreed upon 60 years in prison. The crime falls under the Oklahoma 85 percent rule, which means Lockaby will not be eligible for parole or credits for at least 51 years.
