Panama, Poteau girls advance to Panama Lady ’Back Classic winner's-bracket semifinals

PANAMA — The host Panama Lady Razorbacks and the Poteau Lady Pirates began Friday's action at the 2011 Lady ’Back Classic in the winner's-bracket semifinals.
The Lady Razorbacks rallied to down the Wister Lady Wildcats 5-3, while the Lady Pirates escaped with a 2-1 win over the Spiro Lady Bulldogs in Thursday night's action.
The Lady ’Cats started the night with an 8-6 victory over the Vian Lady Wolverines, while the Lady Bulldogs won a forfeited game over Sallisaw as the Lady Black Diamonds did not show up.
The other local team in the field, the Pocola Lady Indians, also split their games on the night, rallying to down the Smithville Lady Braves 3-2 but losing 6-0 to the Red Oak Lady Eagles.
The Lady Razorbacks and the Lady Pirates played Friday night for the right to get to today's winner's-bracket final at 5:30 p.m. The title game is set for 8 p.m. tonight, with the if-game at 9:20 p.m.
