The Panama Razorbacks and the Spiro Bulldogs will get the 2011 LeFlore County high school football season off and running when they meet at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Spiro's McClain Stadium.
The ’Dogs won last year's match-up 27-14 at Panama's George Ollie Stadium. But Spiro Coach Chris Bunch believes his team will see a different-looking Razorback team tonight.
“They have a new coach (Brandon Ellis) who's doing things different than last year,” Bunch said”. We're expecting to see some different stuff from them on defense, and a little bit of some different stuff on offense.”
On the other hand, the Razorbacks are coming off a 0-10 season in 2010, and a win would be very important — and not just to the program itself.
“A win would be huge,” Ellis said. “The boys are really needing to win. The town needs a win. They need something positive right now. I don't think you can put a price tag on it. A win will be huge.”
