Pat Tackett, 78, of Bokoshe died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013. in Fort Smith, Ark.Pat was born Sept. 12, 1934 in Poteau to John W. and Elsie R. (Deathrow) Kilgore. She was a school teacher for 39 years. Pat was a member of Alpha Beta Kappa and the Eastern Star. She was Business Woman of the Year, in Who’s Who in America and was past president of LeFlore County Oklahoma Education Association. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Tackett; sons, Randy and Steven; sisters, Joann Kilgore, Arlene Wynn, Lillie Mae Baker and Baby Kilgore; and brothers, Kenneth, Aubrey, Gene, James “Steve” and Jerry Kilgore.Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Vickey and Joseph Damato of Spiro, Lea Ann Lowry of Bokoshe, Sharon and Jim Steen of Ocala, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, Paul Tackett and Lisa Woodral of Bokoshe; grandchildren, Daniel and Rhonda Damato of Spiro, Chris Tackett of Bokoshe, Jason and Jody Tackett of Heavener, Jake Tackett of Bokoshe, Brandie Fenelon of Barling, Ark., Chris Fenelon of Fort Smith, Lacey and Jesse Mattox of Howe, Will and Lacey Mills of Heavener, Chad Cooper and Brook of Spiro, Shawn and Dara Hogan of Spiro and children, Lilly, Kalie, Cash, Shawn Jr. and Kalie; four great-grandchildren, Gina Damato, Nicola Damato, Rumor Tackett, and Langston Tackett, Gracie Mattox, Brinley Mills; aunt, Verlon Stockton of Sapulpa, Virginia Harrison of Panama; sister, Linda and Gary Vest of Cameron; brothers, John and Margaret Kilgore of Blythe, Calif., Leland and Brenda Kilgore of Sulphur Springs, Ted and Jane Kilgore of Poteau; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 1, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Revs. Jim Cook, Leroy Orr and Brian Smith officiating. Burial will be in Old Bokoshe Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Will Thompson, Fred Wegert, Jordan Rogers, Chad Cooper, Nick Zimmerman, Randall Foster, Charles Burton and Gerald McRay. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie McRay, Steve Tackett, Tony Smith and Larry Martin.The family will be at Evans and Miller Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday to visit with relatives and friends.
