Patsy Brooks, 86, of Bokoshe, died Monday, July 28, 2014, in Rogers, Ark. Patsy was born on July 21, 1928, in Tahona to Earl L. and Gladys (Young) Brown.Patsy is survived by two daughters, Trish Phillips and husband J.D. of Bokoshe, Deb Lockhart and husband Randall of Bentonville, Ark.; two sons, William “Butch” Brooks and wife Karen of Fort Smith, Ark.; Larry Don Brooks and wife Ann of Bokoshe; nine grandchildren, Lori McOlvin, Mark Brooks, Amy Ditmore, Tammy Brooks, Misty Carter, Scott Lockhart, Katy Etzkorn, John Phillips and Matthew Brooks; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob and Sara McOlvin, Mackey, Brooks and Wyatt Ditmore, Zachary, Delainey and Payton Phillips, Maxwell Scott Lockhart; one great-grandchild on the way, Brooks Carter; and one brother, G.T. Brown and wife Charlene of Bokoshe. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Brooks; daughter, Pamela Brooks Mann; sister, Elizabeth; and three brothers, Louis Brown, Earl Brown Jr. and Bobby Brown.She was a member of the Bokoshe First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 60-plus years. She loved to cook and especially loved sharing the food prepared by her hands with others. She also loved to make quilt blocks.Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at First Baptist Church in Bokoshe with the Revs. Jerry Turner and Wes Bates officiating. Burial will be in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Pallbearers will be Scott Lockhart, Mark Brooks, Matthew Brooks, John Phillips, Nathan Wooten, Zachary Carter, John Ditmore, Mike Etzkorn, Mike McOlvin, Jim Lyons, Bryan Feero and Gary Carver. The family will visit with friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Scott Lockhart will share some of the family’s “precious moments” with Granny Patsy.
