PKMS 8th-grade boys win opener in own tournament, but girls teams, 7th-grade boys suffer losses

The Pansy Kidd Middle School eighth-grade Raiders basketball team won its opener in its own tournament on Monday with a 53-39 victory over the Wister Wildcats at the PKMS Gym.
However, the other three PKMS teams suffered losses. The eighth-grade Lady Raiders fell 30-21 to Wister, while both seventh-grade Pansy Kidd Middle School teams lost to Sallisaw — the boys fell 23-21, while the girls lost 31-21.
Other scores in the tournament, Spiro's girls defeated Muldrow 45-23, but three other locals suffered defeats. The Spiro boys lost 42-39 to Spiro, while both Pocola teams suffered losses to Roland — the Indians lost 28-27, while the Lady Indians fell 49-24.
