Playoffs now getting hot and heavy for county teams

February 12, 2013

AMID THE SAVAGES — Poteau's Kandace Standridge, center, looks to go up for a basket while double-teamed by a pair of Broken Bow players MaKenzie Wright, left, and Jade Mitchell, in the waning seconds of Saturday afternoon's game at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse. Now, the second season — otherwise known as the playoffs — will get going hot and heavy this week. All Class A and B teams that got out of their respective district tournaments will be in regional tournaments Thursday through Saturday.
All Class 4A, 3A and 2A teams will begin postseason play Friday and Saturday in district tournaments.
The complete playoff schedule will be listed at the end of this column.
Column will move to Wednesdays beginning next week
To help space constraint issues to accommodate stories on weekend high school basketball playoffs, and any other local weekend action, I am going to move the Cage Notes column to Wednesdays for the rest of the season beginning next week.
