Pocola gets unknown team to open up season

September 2, 2011

Last year, the Pocola Indians opened the 2010 football season on the road against Hulbert. This year, they'll open the 2011 campaign at 7:30 p.m. tonight at John Carter Field — not against Hulbert, however.
The Indians will welcome a new team to town, Tulsa Regent Prep — which is a very unknown opponent.
“The only thing I know about them is that they're ready to get their program off the ground,” Pocola Coach Rick Lang said. “They've had organized football since sixth grade for a lot of these kids. It's not new to them. What is new to them is Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. I'm sure they're excited about getting things going.”
