Pocola Indians open season tonight against Tulsa Regent Prep

September 6, 2013

Pocola football coach Rick Lang could not be happier with how his team is entering tonight's 2013 season opener against Tulsa Regent Prep at 7:30 p.m. at John Carter Field.
“I think from our first scrimmage to our second, we saw great improvement,” Lang said. “I loved how the kids came out against Heavener with great enthusiasm from the first play all the way to the end. I think we accomplished everything we wanted to accomplish. We had a good scrimmage. Our kids were flying around to the ball. We cut down on our mistakes, and the kids got better. I was proud of them. If we continue to improve like that, we'll turn some heads this year. I told them Friday night if we come out this week like we did against Heavener, we should be fine. I think we're right where we need to be. We're much further along than we were at this time last year — and we're healthy.”
