Pocola takes a recess

November 29, 2011

Pocola takes no action

The Pocola Board of trustees held a special meeting tonight to hire for two vancancies within the city. After more than two hours behind closed doors in executive session the trustees decided to take a recess until next Tuesday night before making any decisions regarding a new police chief and a new street department employee.
The group plans to reconvene at 5:30 p.m. at the Pocola City Hall on December 6. Pocola mayor Gaylon Freeman said he can't say for certain that the trustees will reach a decision that night but he hopes that with regard to the Chief of Police position they can at the very least cull the number of applicants down to less than a handful. Currently nine people have applied for the position.
