Pocola's late score propels Indians to comeback victory over Tulsa Regent Prep

September 4, 2012

COWETA — Rick Lang, Pocola High School's football coach, mentioned after his team's last scrimmage about finding ways to finish games. Friday night's 2012 season opener may not be what he had in mind, but he'll take it.
Beau Kerbow's 30-yard touchdown run and Dalton Richardson's extra point with 1:43 left to play lifted the Indians to a 35-34 come-from-behind victory over Tulsa Regent Prep.
The winning score, literally, took quite some time to take place. With 2:30 left to play and trailing 34-28, the Indians (1-0) got the ball. After overcoming a holding penalty and a power outage which stopped the game for about 20 to 30 minutes, the Indians kept their cool and drove down field, with Kerbow's TD run capping the drive.
The Indians will travel to meet the Haileyville Warriors at 7:30 p.m. next Friday.
