Poteau Bandit League fourth-grade, third-grade teams win playoff openers; Season ends for fifth-graders; sixth-graders will entertain Van Buren Green in semifinals

Two of the three Poteau Bandit League teams who played opening-round playoff games on Saturday were victorious.
The fourth-grade team shut out Greenwood (Ark.) Blue 38-0, while the third-graders posted a 26-0 victory over Greenwood White — both games at Costner Stadium.
However, the season ended for the fifth-graders in a 48-0 loss to Van Buren (Ark.) White in Van Buren.
The semifinals will take place for the sixth-, fourth- and third-grade teams next Saturday.
The sixth-graders, who got a opening-round bye, will entertain Van Buren Green at approximately 4:45 p.m. at Costner Stadium after the third-graders face Van Buren Green at 3:30 p.m.
The fourth-graders will face Van Buren Green at 11 a.m. Saturday in Van Buren.
