Poteau Bandit League teams go 3-1 with Union Christian

The home finales for the Poteau Bandit League football teams were 75 percent successful against Union Christian Academy of Fort Smith on Saturday at Costner Stadium.
The locals went 3-1 on the day, with the sixth-grade (24-20), fourth-grade (30-0) and third-grade teams (32-0) all wininng, but Union Christian took the fifth-grade game 22-0.
The Poteau teams will wrap up the regular season this Saturday with road games at Greenwood (Ark.) White. The third-grade game will lead things off at 10 a.m., followed by the fourth-grade contest at 11:15 a.m., the fifth-grade game at 12:30 p.m. and the sixth-grade game at 1:45 p.m.
In fact, the sixth-graders will play twice on Saturday as they will also meet the Spiro Bulldogs at 7 p.m. at McClain Stadium.
