The Poteau Pirates may not have the chance to go undefeated at 5-0 in their own Wood Bat Festival. The Pirates were supposed to have played Fort Smith (Ark.) Northside Friday afternoon, but the game was postponed due to rain and will not be made up.
On a chilly and rainy Thursday at Town Creek Park, the Pirates picked up wins No. 3 and 4 in the festival, blanking the Plainview Indians 3-0 then posting a 10-2, five-inning, run-rule win over the Seminole Chieftains.
The other local team in action at Town Creek Park on Thursday, the Pocola Indians, were not as fortunate as they lost 11-4 to the Oktaha Tigers.
