After losing a 16-8 home game Friday afternoon to the Talihina Golden Tigers, the Poteau Pirates baseball team returned to Town Creek Park for Day 1 of the 2013 Poteau Wood Bat Festival, and picked up two wins.
The Pirates had to rally late to down the Oktaha Tigers 3-2, then posted an 8-0 five-inning, run-rule victory over the Smithville Braves.
The Pirates are slated to play Plainview at 10 this morning, then face Seminole at 2 this afternoon in Day 2 action. However, if inclement weather occurs, the games will be moved to the same times on Friday.
