The Poteau Pirates had a shot to do what no one else has done to this point — knock off Class 4A's No. 1 Roland Rangers — Tuesday night at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse. And for a brief moment in the final period, the Pirates had a lead on the undefeated Rangers. But in the end, foul problems ended up plaguing the Pirates as they lost 45-36.
It was a heartbreaking night for the Lady Pirates, who led for most of the game. But a late fourth-quarter rally, keyed by 3-point shooting by Roland's Sidney Walters, fueled a comeback victory for the Lady Rangers by a score of 54-49.
