April 13, 2013

HULBERT — The Poteau High School boys golf team grabbed all the second-place honors at Friday's Fort Gibson Invitational, which took place at Western Hills Golf Course.
The Pirates had a team score of 321, finishing two team strokes behind champion Sallisaw (319), but ahead of third-place and host Fort Gibson (327) — which beat Poteau and Sallisaw in Monday's Poteau Boys Invitational at Choctaw Country Club.
Individually, Cody Shore was runner-up medalist with a 74. Connor Wheat was 10th-place medalist with an 81. John Scott Sanders shot an 84, followed by Jarrett Lowrimore (86) and Connor Bandy (91).
The Pirates will return to action next Friday in the Hilldale Invitational, which will begin at 9 a.m. in Muskogee.
