Poteau boys' season comes to an end with losses to Stilwell in Class 4A District Tournament

STILWELL — The Poteau High School baseball season came to an end Thursday in the Class 4A District Tournment.
The Pirates suffered a 3-2 loss in the first game against the Stilwell Indians, who then took Game 2 by a score of 9-1.
The Pirates end the season at 13-15.
In the opener, the Indians (32-3) scored once in the first and third innings for a 2-0 lead.
The Pirates tied the game in the fourth inning on an RBI grounder by Wilson Klutts scoring Jace Pitchford and a passed ball scoring Klutts.
The game stayed that way until the seventh when Stilwell's Gabe Coldwell hit an RBI double to get the win.
In the nightcap, Blake Roley's RBI grounder tied the game at 1-1 in the opening inning, but the Indians put the game away with a four-run third inning for a 5-1 lead.
