The Poteau Pirates baseball team took care of two things with one victory Friday afternoon at Town Creek Park.
The Pirates got their second mercy-rule win over the Roland Rangers to win the Class 4A District Tournament by a score of 14-6. In so doing, the Pirates (26-7) tied the school record for wins in a season as they won the Class 4A District Tournament, and will find out Monday what their regional fate will be.
The two teams split their Thursday games to begin the district tournament. After Roland won the first game 7-6 in eight innings, Poteau took the nightcap 9-1 in a six-inning, mercy-rule victory.
