Poteau cross country runner earns All-State status; Lady Pirates place seventh at Class 4A State Meet

EDMOND — Poteau senior cross country runner Deven Bond was hoping to earn All-State status by finishing in the top 10 at Saturday's Class 4A State Meet at Edmond Santa Fe High School. She did.
Bond was eighth with a time of 12:33.91 to become an All-Stater.
As a team, the Lady Pirates were seventh with 187 points, finishing behind state champion Plainview (25 points), Tulsa Metro Christian (127), Sequoyah-Claremore (149), Elgin (153), Oklahoma City Heritage Hall (156) and Vinita (185).
As for the rest of the Lady Pirates, Haley Griggs was 37th (13:27.28), Sheridan Hoyer 46th (13:44.78), Kaitlan Standridge 69th (14:29.24), Brittany Fox 70th (14:29.9), Kayle Dryer 71st (14:30.88) and Bailee Bates 95th (14:57.27).
The lone Pirate runner, Dylan Fox, was 34th with a time of 18:15.08.
