The postseason has arrived for the Poteau High School cross country teams. The Pirates and Lady Pirates will run in the Class 4A Regional Meet at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Tulsa's O'Brien Park.
The top seven teams will automatically qualify all their runners to next weekend's Class 4A State Meet at Edmond's Mitch Park, while the top seven individuals remaining after the top seven teams' runners are taken out of the mix will also qualify for state.
While the Poteau runners are trying to get qualified for state, one other county runner will get the privilege to run at state this weekend.
Heavener's Jose Farias qualified as an individual at last week's Class 3A Regional Meet in Coweta. He will run at noon today in the Class 3A State Meet at Shawnee's Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech Center.
