Poteau cross country teams 13th at Tulsa Washington Invitational

TULSA — The Poteau High School cross country teams both finished 13th at Thursday afternoon's Tulsa Washington Invitational at O'Brian Park.
Two Lady Pirates medaled as Deven Bond was 14th (13:56) and Sheridan Hoyer was 17th (14:07). Samantha Galetka ran a 15:55, followed by Shandee Staton (16:48) and Katie Piquet (16:55).
On the boys' side, Poteau's highest finisher was Nico Hall, who was 33rd (19:27). Daniel Stacy ran a 20:00, followed by Bobby Graham (21:06), Josh Anderson (21:14), Will Longenbaugh (21:34), Wesley Reeves (22:03), Daryl Callaway (22:50), Eric Sanjuan (22:47), Noah Martin (23:27), Hong Siu (23:38), Kendell Smith (23:39), Matt Hinds (24:52), Bobby Elkins (27:15), Trey Wells (27:16) and David Delgadillo (34:03).
Two Pirate runners ran in the junior varsity race, and both medaled. Dylan Fox was 15th (21:27) and Tyler White was 20th (21:42).
The Heavener runners were to have ran in this meet, but were unable to attend.
The Poteau and Heavener runners will run at 8:30 a.m. next Saturday at the Oklahoma State University Jamboree in Stillwater.
