Poteau girls go 4-0 to begin play in OU Invitational

September 8, 2012

NORMAN — It's been a banner two days for the Poteau Lady Pirates in the University of Oklahoma Invitational. The Lady Pirates have won all four of their pool-play games, which took place Thursday and Friday.
The Lady Pirates defeated Edmond Santa Fe 4-1, then beat Class 4A's fifth-ranked Purcell 8-1 on Friday.
On Thursday, Poteau posted wins over Hilldale (5-3 in eight innings) and Lawton MacArthur (7-3).
The Lady Pirates (18-5), ranked ninth in the Class 4A poll, will play Jenks at 9 a.m. this morning, and then one more game — either at 12:30 p.m. or 2:15 p.m., depending on how they finish in their pool after the Jenks game.
