FORT GIBSON — Last season, the Poteau Lady Pirates were the Cinderella story of the postseason as they were able to get to the Class 4A Area Tournament — and three wins from the state tournament.
The Lady Pirates were hoping to reach the same level on Saturday afternoon in the Class 4A Regional Tournament consolation finals. However, a rough fourth quarter enabled the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs to get a 36-26 victory to end the Lady Pirates' season at 18-9.
The Lady Pirates reached Saturday afternoon's consolation finals with a dramatic 47-45 overtime victory over the Hilldale Lady Hornets on Friday night.
