Poteau girls make it five straight fast-pitch county titles; Lady Pirate pitcher named tournament's Most Valuable Player

PANAMA — The streak is intact, five fall seasons and counting.
The Poteau Lady Pirates softball team ran its streak of county fast-pitch titles to five as they completed their fifth straight undefeated county tournament, beating the Heavener Lady Wolves 7-1 Thursday night in the title game of the 2013 LeFlore County Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament.
The Lady Pirates blanked Panama 4-0 in the winner's-bracket final to reach the title game.
The Lady Wolves won twice on Thursday to make it to the championship round, beating Wister 4-1 in the loser's-bracket semifinal and 4-2 over Panama in the loser's-bracket final.
