Poteau girls third, Pirates sixth after first round of Glen Rose Invitational

GLEN ROSE, Texas — The Poteau Lady Pirates golf team is third and the Pirates sixth after the first day of the Glen Rose Invitational, which took place Friday at Squaw Valley Golf Course. The final round will be Saturday.
The Lady Pirates shot a team score of 364, which is 24 team strokes behind Day 1 leader Keller, Texas (340). Joshua, Texas (358) is in second place.
Two-time Class 4A state champion Hannah Ward is in a tie for second place at 77, one shot off the lead.
Poteau's Cody Shore is in a five-way tie for third place after Day 1 with a 74, which is three shots back of the leader.
The Pirates shot a team score of 320, 14 shots behind leader Keller (306). Burleson, Texas, is in second place (311), followed by Cleburne, Texas (313), Centennial, Texas (318) and the Keller junior varsity (319).
