Poteau golfer places in top 12 at Girls Junior Championship

OKLAHOMA CITY — Poteau High School golfer Hannah Ward tied for 11th place at this week's 62nd annual Girls Junior Championship, which took place Tuesday and Wednesday at Willow Creek Country Club.
Ward, who was the Class 4A State Tournament individual state title and helped the Lady Pirates win the team state title, shot an 81-78 and tied Haley Hill for 11th place at 159.
Caroline Goodin was top medalist as she shot a 72-71—143, beating Megan Blonien (75-71—146) and Maci Arrington (74-72—146) by three shots.
There were 52 golfers in the field.
