Poteau golfers win individual titles at Tulsa McLain/TSST Tournament

BROKEN ARROW — Poteau golfers Cody Shore and Hannah Ward won individual titles at the Tulsa McLain/TSST Tournament, which took place Tuesday and Wednesday at Forest Ridge Golf Course.
Shore shot a 74 to win the tournament, which he clinched on his final hole with a birdie putt.
As a team, the Pirates were fourth with a team score of 341, and were the highest Class 4A school to place among the Class 5A and 6A teams who were in the 30-team field.
Connor Wheat was Poteau's second-highest finisher with an 86. Jarrett Lowrimore shot a 90, followed by John Scott Sanders at 91 and Jace Pitchford — playing in his first-ever golf tournament — shot a 109.
Ward, last year's Class 4A state individual champion, shot an 85 on Tuesday to claim the top-medalist honor.
Only three total Lady Pirates competed on the day. After Ward, Cathleen Manlove shot a 104, while Skylynn Terry carded a 118.
