Poteau Lady Pirates lose semifinal game to host team at Keys Cougars Invitational on Thursday

PARK HILL — While they were 1-0 thanks to a forfeited victory over Oklahoma City Centennial on Tuesday at the Keys Cougars Invitational, the Poteau Lady Pirates finally got to hit the court for the first time Thursday afternoon in the semifinals against the host Keys Lady Cougars.
Although ahead in the latter stages of the game, the Lady Cougars were able to prevail over the Lady Pirates by the score of 45-43.
The Lady Pirates (1-1) will play for third place at 4 this afternoon.
The Pirates (0-1) played their consolation semifinal Friday night against the Fort Gibson junior varsity.
A win will put them into the consolation championship at 2:30 this afternoon against the Tulsa Holland Hall-Tahlequah JV winner.
The two losers will play for seventh place at 11:30 this morning.
