Poteau Lady Pirates track team wins Checotah Invitational on Friday; Spiro girls tied for fifth

CHECOTAH — The Poteau Lady Pirates track team won the Checotah Invitational on Friday with 115 points, finishing ahead of Okmulgee (97 points), Vian (76) and Dewey (47). The Spiro Lady Bulldogs tied for fifth with Warner at 46 points.
The Lady Pirates won four events, two of which were relays.
The Lady Bulldogs had two runner-up finishes.
On the boys side, only two schools had points. Poteau had 12 points, while Talihina had a single point.
