Michael D. Jefferson, 42, of Poteau has been charged with domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.

A Poteau man was charged with domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend with a steak knife.
Michael D. Jefferson, 42, of Poteau is accused of cutting his girlfriends cheek several times with a steak knife during an altercation. His girlfriend told police Jefferson also grabbed her by the neck.
Jefferson was jailed at the LeFlore County Detention Center in connection with the incident. He has been released after posting bail in the amount of $10,000.
