The final preseason tune-up scrimmage for the Poteau Pirates was a polar opposite in the styles of offense Thursday night at Costner Stadium. The Mena (Ark.) Bearcats are of the line and lineage of the Greenwood (Ark.) offensive attitude. Mena's coach was once the offensive coordinator there. On the other hand, the Pirates and their new offensive philosophy which is being slowly but surely infused is a hardcore, smashmouth football style, which is the way that Greg Werner, Poteau's new coach, likes it.
