All year long, the Poteau Pirates football team wanted to be more physical in its offensive line, and in Thursday night's District 4A-4 contest against the Muldrow Bulldogs at Costner Stadium, the offensive line had its coming out party.
As the game evolved, Trevor Shankle, Troy Barnett, Logan Hildebrand, Devin Thompson and Stephen Smith, and late in the game Jace Adkins, seized control of the point of attack at the line of scrimmage. The Poteau backs had running lanes, and they took advantage of those holes as the Pirates took a 21-14 halftime into intermission. Then, the Pirates simply won both sides of the ball in the second half as they won the game by the score of 41-21.
