Poteau Pirates show improvement in Friday's three-way scrimmage

August 21, 2012

TULSA — There has been one catch phrase that seems to keep on popping up, in news print or by word of month that has to do with the new direction in which the Poteau High School football program is now headed under the leadership of Greg Werner, the new coach. — “Buying In.”
In the dictionary, the phrase “Buying In” means to agree with. You can almost see the lights starting to burn brighter in the Pirates' eyes as the new mind set and scheme of doing things is starting to be absorbed into their very soul.
In just the six days since the Red-White Interteam Scrimmage took place at Costner Stadium, the Pirates have made unbelievable changes and improvements in their style of play and definitely in their results of their efforts, and that was visible in Friday night's three-way scrimmage with host Tulsa Memorial and Catoosa.
