Poteau runners participate in Chile Pepper Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Poteau High School cross-country runners participated in their regular-season finale meet Saturday as they ran in the Chile Pepper/University of Arkansas Invitational.
The Lady Pirates had seven of the 410 total runners in the field in the varsity girls' race. Deven Bond had led the way as she was 175th with a time of 21:53. Colleen Peterson was 271st (23:21), Sheridan Hoyer was 275th (23:25), Tabitha Waldrop was 353rd (25:35), Shandee Staton was 362nd (26:06), Sonja Guerrero was 383rd (27:20) and Haley Clark was 395th (28:26).
Eight Pirates hit the course in the field of 494 runners in the varsity boys' race. Daniel Stacy had Poteau's highest finish as he came in 270th (18:37). Ashby Clark was 335th (19:11), Nico Hall was 343rd (19:17), Dylan Fox was 388th (19:49), Tyler White was 408th (20:01), Bobby Graham was 471st (21:27), Jayson Davis was 473rd (21:35) and Wesley Reeves was 476th (21:42).
The junior varsity boys' race had 581 runners, with seven of them being Pirates. Noah Martin had the highest finish for Poteau as his time of 20:52 placed him 315th. Hunter Martin was 440th (22:11), Josh Anderson was 459th (22:30), Matt Carmack was 471st (22:40), Charles Graham was 483rd (22:54), Daryl Callaway was 541st (23:30) and Cody White was 574th (27:05).
There were two Poteau runners in the junior high races. Kayle Dryer was 186th out of 445 runners on the girls' side with a time of 25:30, while Isaac Stacy was 311th out of 562 runners in the boys' race with a time of 22:53.
