Poteau senior boys hope third time is the charm against Stilwell

February 14, 2013

SENIOR POWER — The three Poteau Pirates senior basketball players, from left, Blake Johnson, Dylan Stone and Michael Reynolds (currently injured) were honored on Senior Night on Tuesday. The good news is the Poteau High School basketball teams were awarded being hosts for Friday night’s Class 4A District Tournament at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
The bad news is the Pirates will have to meet the Stilwell Indians, who have beaten them twice — 43-37 on Dec. 17 in Stilwell and 74-47 on Feb. 1 at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
If the third time is to be the charm when the Pirates play the Indians at 8 p.m. Friday after the girls contest at 6:30 p.m., three key things will need to happen — at least in one senior’s opinion.
