On Sept. 27, the Poteau Pirates football team perhaps won its biggest game in some four years when they knocked off the Sallisaw Black Diamonds 34-9. Now, there's another big game on the horizon, that being at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Fort Gibson. It will pit the sixth-ranked Pirates (5-0 overall, 2-0 in District 4A-4) against the seventh-ranked Tigers (4-1, 2-0)
“It's exciting,” Poteau senior linebacker Carlos Aguilar said. “It's a huge game. All glory to God, He's given us this opportunity to be in this type of game. Our offense is one of the best. I'm excited about this game.”
