As freshmen, Poteau Lady Pirate slow-pitch softball seniors Chelsey Campbell and RaeLynn Caldwell made the Class 6A State Tournament, which capped back-to-back trips to state for Poteau.
If the Lady Pirates win Wednesday's Class 6A Regional Tournament in Muskogee, they will make state once again.
The Lady Pirates will play Broken Bow at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday after host Muskogee and Sallisaw play at 11 a.m. Poteau had a game with Broken Bow scheduled for Thursday last week, but the Lady Savages canceled. However, the Lady Pirates have beaten both Muskogee and Sallisaw, so that helps their confidence going into today's regional tournament.
