Poteau soccer boys beat Bethany for ticket to 4A state finals; Pirates will face OKC Santa Fe South for 4A title at 7 p.m. Saturday in Tulsa

Even though the game was tight on the scoreboard as the Bethany Bronchos from leveled the score at 1 just five minutes into the second half, the Poteau Pirates wore down the Bronchos with wholesale line changes. Finally, the Poteau offensive unit staged an offensive explosion as the Pirates simply blew by the Bronchos with three goals within a five-minute span as Poteau won the game by the score of 4-1 in the Class 4A state semifinals Tuesday night before a festive full house of Poteau fans at Costner Stadium.
The Pirates (15-1) will meet Oklahoma City Santa Fe South, a 2-1 winner over Fort Gibson on Tuesday night, at 7 p.m. Saturday at the University of Tulsa Soccer Complex for the Class 4A state title.

To get to Saturday’s title game site — Take U.S. 59 north to Sallisaw. Take Interstate 40 west to the Muskogee Turnpike. Take the turnpike west to Tulsa, where it becomes Oklahoma State Highway 51. Take Highway 51 west to U.S. 169. Take U.S. 169 north to I-244. Take I-244 west to Harvard Avenue. Turn left (south) on Harvard to East 11th. Turn right (west) to South Columbia Avenue. Turn right (north) on Columbia to the University of Tulsa Soccer Complex.
