Poteau soccer boys district champs after beating Heavener; Lady Pirates beat Lady Wolves

It was quite a Senior Night for the Poteau High School soccer teams as they posted a sweep of district and county rival Heavener on Tuesday at Costner Stadium.
The Pirates, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, edged the Wolves 2-1 to win the district title, while the evening of soccer started with a 8-1 Lady Pirates' victory over the Lady Wolves.
The Lady Pirates will end the regular season at 5 p.m. Friday on the road against Porter Consolidated.
The Heavener teams will return to Harvey Stadium for games against Stilwell, with the girls game at 5 p.m. and the boys contest at 7 p.m.
Heavener teams split Friday at Westville
The Heavener High School soccer teams split their Friday road games against Westville as the Wolves won 9-0, but the Lady Wolves fell by the identical score of 9-0.
