Poteau soccer teams' season openers vs. Greenwood canceled; girls' game rescheduled for Thursday; boys game not rescheduled yet (UPDATED)

March 4, 2014

The Poteau Pirates soccer team was planning on beginning the defense of its 2013 Class 4A state championship, but they will have to wait until another day. The Lady Pirates are in the same boat.
Today's season openers at home against Greenwood, Ark., have been canceled due inclement weather.
The girl's game has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, but Poteau girls coach Jim Erwin said the contest could be moved to Greenwood. A decision may not come until Wednesday, since both schools were out today due to inclement weather.
According to a Facebook post by Poteau boys coach Neto Silva, the boys' contest has yet to be rescheduled.
