The top two seeds, the Poteau Lady Pirates and the Spiro Lady Bulldogs, are where the seeding would suggest for the 2011 LeFlore County Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament — the winner's-bracket final.
Tuesday night at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex, the Lady Pirates run ruled the Heavener Lady Wolves 10-0 in one winner's-bracket semifinal, while the Lady Bulldogs held off the Panama Lady Razorbacks 3-2 in the other semifinal.
Poteau (22-3) and Spiro (16-4) were slated to meet Wednesday night with the winner finding themselves in tonight's championship game at 7 p.m.
Tuesday night was the first night of action where teams started being eliminated.
In the first set of four games, Wister run ruled Arkoma 13-3, Pocola did likewise to Leflore 12-1, Howe handled Bokoshe 10-1 and Talihina was too much for Whitesboro 13-2.
In the final two elimination games of Tuesday night, Wister blanked Pocola 3-0, while Howe posted a 6-0 shutout over Talihina.
Wednesday's elimination games were to have had Wister facing Heavener and Panama meeting Howe, with those two winners squaring off right afterward for the right to reach tonight's 5:30 p.m. loser's-bracket final.
