SPIRO — Third time was the charm for the Poteau Lady Pirates against the Spiro Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Pirates, who lost to the Lady Bulldogs at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse and in the LeFlore County Tournament earlier this season, finally got a win over the Lady Bulldogs as Poteau downed Spiro 46-33 Friday night at the Spiro Gym.
In the boys' game, the ’Dogs won the rubber game of what turned out to be a three-game series with the Pirates as Spiro defeated Poteau 41-35. The Bulldogs beat the Pirates in the title game of the LeFlore County Tournament after seeing Poteau come back in the second half to win the first game at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
