Poteau teams, Spiro girls, Talihina boys reach LCT semifinals

TALIHINA — In the four games in the championship quarterfinals in the 82nd LeFlore County Tournament on Tuesday on Chris Gillespie Court at Ray Henson Gymnasium, all four higher seeded teams posted wins.
The top-seeded Poteau Lady Pirates handled tournament-host Talihina 58-30, while the third-seeded Pirates got past Whitesboro 37-25.
The second-seeded Spiro Lady Bulldogs were too much for the Bokoshe Lady Tigers in an 81-29 victory, while the host Golden Tigers beat Pocola 50-35.
The Lady Pirates will play Panama at 8:40 tonight in Talihina in one championship semifinal, while the Lady Bulldogs will meet Howe at 7:20 tonight in the other. The winners will play for the championship at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, while the losers will battle it out for third place at 1 p.m. Saturday in Talihina.
The Pirates will meet Howe at 8:40 p.m. Friday in Talihina in one championship semifinal, while the other semifinal will have the Golden Tigers against top-seeded Spiro at 7:20 p.m. Friday. The winners will play for the championship at 8 p.m. Saturday, while the losers will meet for third place at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Talihina.
All four losers were in fifth-place semifinal games on Wednesday. The Lady Golden Tigers played Arkoma with the winner meeting the Bokoshe-Heavener winner for fifth place at 4:40 p.m. Friday in Talihina.
The Bulldogs met Heavener, with the winner meeting the Pocola-Leflore winner for fifth place at 6 p.m. Friday in Talihina.
